Real Facts in Fictional Form

“Fayina’s Dream” is an absolutely truthful chronicle. Despite the fact that for satirical effect the names of countries and politicians are replaced by allegorical names, all described events and characters are a factual reflection of real events, news reports, and historical documents. This book about the Russian invasion leaves no room for speculation and operates only with verified facts.

The central axis of this book about the war in Ukraine is the demonstration of how Russian propaganda’s lies, akin to induced delusion in psychiatry, infect society, rendering it irrational and unable to see the obvious facts about the war in Ukraine. This is not just a plot; it is a mirror reflecting the collective insanity that has fueled the war.

The truth about the war between Russia and Ukraine is laid out plainly. The book does not spare anyone and shows how: The text includes a real quote from Patriarch Kirill of All Rus’, who justifies the occupiers and murder in the war in Ukraine, equating it to the “cleansing of all sins.” This is a factual indictment of the hypocrisy of the church and the state, which use religion to justify war crimes and deceive their own flock. The book details how the Russian people, blindly trusting their state, are ultimately robbed and destroyed by it.

The book does not divide people into right and wrong. Through quotes from Russian classics, this book concludes that the Putin’s War is merely a consequence of the “genetic defectiveness” and “moral deformity” of a nation incapable of repentance. This calls into question the very foundation upon which modern Russia and Ukraine are based.

“Fayina’s Dream” asserts: the war will continue until society recognizes these facts about the war in Ukraine and about themselves, and renounces the lie. It is a call to awakening, not just a work of fiction.

Annotation of Yulia Basharova’s Book “Fayina’s Dream”

“Fayina’s Dream” is a mystical, allegorical novel about the war between Ukraine and Russia, written in a biblical style. It is a combination of a mystical parable, an anarchist manifesto, and a psychological drama in the form of a satirical fairy tale.

There are no real politicians here, but there is Liliputin, the president of Grabland. The Archangel Michael is dressed in a “kosukha” (leather jacket), speaks with the words of anarchist Egor Letov, and plays the guitar. Moscow is called Foolcow, and Europe is called Mugland, as it has become a target for financial extraction. At the end of the chapters, there are explanations of some allusions. But the attentive reader will find many more; the book is simply woven from them. Every detail here holds significance.

In this story, every character and event carries an allegorical meaning, much like in the Bible, where Jesus symbolizes innovators and volunteers, Satan represents criminals and villains, and the Noah’s Ark flood, for example, does not mean a literal flood at all, but a moral downfall and retribution for it. This book proves that one can disbelieve in metaphysics and be a complete atheist, yet the fact that the Bible describes a correct algorithm for action is an undeniable truth.

Fayina has endured much: emigration, an unfair trial, separation from her child, and betrayal. Her associates sold out to the vile owner of a drug rehabilitation center and, together with him, try to defame her and seize her proprietary treatment method. The last straw was an unexpected, senseless love. Her beloved disappeared, and she knew nothing about this guy, except that he was a military blogger and possibly played the piano. But the moment Fayina gave up, the Archangel comes to her and takes her on as an assistant. Her task is to help people who are unable to cope with evil and cry out to God in prayer. The Archangel assures her that serving good will help solve her personal problems. And so it happens, though in a very unexpected way.

Fayina’s life story is not unique. Almost everyone has experienced something similar. This tragedy is a mirrored reflection of military events. The heroes, by their actions, symbolize: the president, oligarchs, propagandists, and the silent masses. If you compare the events, it becomes obvious: everything that happens “at the top” always starts with each of us, because “In the beginning was the Word.” And every word we speak, or leave unspoken, entails consequences.
